Terms
The deal for using Pocket Justice, in plain words. It's short, because we aren't promising much.

The short version
We promise nothing and guarantee very little. Pocket Justice has earned its place in one family's kitchen, and we hope it earns one in yours. But it's a family project, not a product, so you use it at your own risk. If that doesn't suit you, no hard feelings: a whiteboard on the fridge does most of the same job.
What this is
Pocket Justice lets parents hand out awards, warnings and fines to their kids, and share each one as a picture in the family chat. One family made it for its own kitchen, and anyone else is welcome to use it.
It's free, for now. That might change one day, and if it does, we'll tell you well in advance. That one's a promise. Either way, it's far from a commercial enterprise: no ads, no support desk, and nobody here is paid to keep you happy.
What it isn't
- A court. The fines aren't real fines. Nobody, us included, is going to enforce a $2 penalty for leaving the milk out.
- A bank. No real money ever moves through it. A paid fine means a parent tapped a button, and the amounts are only as real as the coins someone actually hands over.
- An accountant. The tallies are probably right. Don't bet anything bigger than pocket money on it.
- Parenting advice. Whether a fine is fair, or a good idea at all, is up to you.
- A safe place for anything that matters. There's no export, and no promise it'll still be here tomorrow.
No promises
Pocket Justice comes as it is, and as far as the law allows, with no guarantees. It might have bugs. It might go offline from time to time. It might lose an entry, a photo or a whole family's history, or get a tally wrong.
We can change how it works, add things, take things away, or switch it off for good, whenever we like. If we can warn you first we will, but that's a hope, not a promise. If it goes, your family's history goes with it.
Your risk, not ours
You use Pocket Justice at your own risk. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for anything that goes wrong because of it. That includes lost or wrong data, a card shared into the wrong chat, a photo you wish you hadn't taken, and any family argument about whether leaving the milk out was really a $2 offence.
Your family, your call
You decide what counts as an offence, what it costs and what earns an award. We don't referee.
An award, once given, stands. It can't be voided, not even the one that went to the wrong kid, so tap carefully. Fines, warnings and payments can be voided, but nothing is ever deleted from the history.
What you put in, the names, notes and photos, is yours, and so is the responsibility for it. We don't claim any of it. The Privacy page says what we keep and who can see it, along with the best advice on it: photograph the crime scene, not the kid.
Play nice
Use it for your own family. Don't use it to bully or hassle anyone, don't upload anything you shouldn't have, and don't try to break it or get into another family's ledger. If someone does, we may delete their family, and we won't feel bad about it.
The fine print
Some rights can't be signed away, like the consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law. If the law where you live gives you rights like that, you keep them. Nothing on this page tries to take them off you.
We might change these terms. When we do, this page changes and so does the date at the top. Keep using Pocket Justice after that and you're agreeing to the new version.
